Preventing The Spread Of Infection
The following information is a guide only. If at any time you're worried about your child, see your doctor.
- Many infectious diseases are spread in the air by coughing and sneezing. So teach your children to cover their mouth when coughing and sneezing and to use a tissue when they blow their nose.
- Teach your child to wash and dry their hands after using the toilet.
- Wash your hands after touching a sick child and before preparing food.
- Don't put other children in the sick child's bed.
- Immunise your children.
Note: If your child has any one of the following diseases, inform the school and all the people they have been in contact with from the time of exposure to the first signs of illness (incubation period).
